Tumbling Levels and Requirements
Mommy & Me: This is a 30 minute class for children 18 months to 3 years old! The class focuses on coordination, and muscle development. Mommy’s (or Daddy's) come to class and participate as well.
Tiny Tumblers: Beginning at age 3, the tumbler participates in this 45 minute class. The mommy’s watch from the lobby and the pre-schooler learns only from the instructor. This class teaches beginning tumbling skills as well as learning maturity.
Level 1: No previous experience is needed for this 45 minute class, only the desire to learn! Participants must be at least 6 years old to participate in any of the level tumbling classes. Younger students will be put into pre-school classes.
Level 2: This class is 1 hour long and a solid round off with a good rebound is required for this level as well as a handstand against the wall held for 30 seconds. A coach will assess the tumbler if needed. Skills learned in level 2 consist of standing back handsprings and round off back handsprings.
Level 3: A round off followed by 3 consecutive back handsprings is required for this 1 hour class as well as a strong standing back handspring rebound which will be assessed by a coach. Standing tucks and round off back handspring back tucks and lay outs will be perfected in this level.
Level 4: A solid round off back handspring lay out as well as a strong standing 2 back handsprings into a back tuck is required for this advanced 1 hour class. Twisting skills, standing fulls, and combination passes will be taught at this level.
Adult Tumbling: Anyone over the age of 18 interested in learning beginning tumbling, getting a good 1 hour workout, and having fun is welcome to come to this class. Retired cheerleaders and gymnasts are also welcome; instructors will work at each individual level.
***To continue to keep classes organized, all participants need to remain out in the lobby until the instructor comes out to get the class. In order to create an encouraging, fast learning environment for your child it is important to us at ICE® Athletic Center that proper class placement is followed. Our instructors will always inform you when your child is ready for the next level. It is also important that parents remain out of the gym during all classes, team practices, and open gym to keep the classes running smoothly and without interruption.
Thank You!

In addition to our quality tumbling classes, we offer FLIGHT SCHOOL classes! This is a wonderful opportunity for athletes interested in improving their strength, flexibility, body awareness, and flying skills. You don't have to be a flyer to take this class!

The 60 minute class is typically broken down systematically into sections: the first 15 minutes are dedicated to intense stretching, flexibility is an essential component of being a flyer; the following 30 minutes consist of actual flying on the bases in stunt sequences with constant instruction; the last 15 minutes vary and will usually involve either basket tosses, more stunting, or, on occasion, additional stretching. FLIGHT SCHOOL focuses on the main aspects of flying utilizing a number of drills aimed at developing the skills necessary to becoming a better flyer. This class is available for ALL ages and skill levels and it provides an opportunity for a one-on-one type of experience with 3 instructors and a limit of only 4 athletes per class!

The latest addition to our class schedule is our JUMP CLASS! This class is available for up to 12 athletes of any skill level. It focuses on the fundamentals of arguably the toughest skill in cheerleading: the jump. Proper form is essential to good jumps, so at ICE® we break down the tiniest technical details in this 45 minute class while allowing for advancement from basic tuck jumps to whip jumps and even jumps into standing tumbling! Leg and core strength, flexibility, technique, and stamina are major focuses of jump classes.
This 45 minute class is offered monthly based on demand. It stresses the fundamentals of proper stretching while striving for results. Often stretching is the most difficult thing to do on your own because of the discipline it requires. This classes provides athletes with a coach to motivate and guide them through the process of gaining flexibility, an essential part of being an athlete of any sort. Athletes will also be given stretches to do at home and progress will be noted by the coach.

One-on-one private lessons are often the fastest, most effective way to improve your tumbling, partner stunting, or general cheerleading skills. Our motivated and qualified staff will work with athletes of every ability and provide customized training geared to each individual. Tumbling is often the most common skill worked on in a private lesson, but ICE® coaches can work with you on anything from jumps and partner stunting to flexibility and motions! You name it and ICE® can help you improve it!

*Privates lessons can be one-on-one with the coach of YOUR choice or a small group of 2-4 athletes can be scheduled together.
**You can schedule your days and times at our front desk or directly with your coach.
