Meet the ICE® Staff! 

At ICE® we think you should know who is working with your children.  Furthermore, we think it is important to communicate to each one of our ICE® family members what role each of our staff members plays in the development of the athletes.  SO, in addition to a brief Bio, each coaches photo is accompanied by a short summary of their responsibilities as ICE® staff members.  We hope that this will enable you to reach the right person for the right questions with as little trouble as possible.

Darlene is the Owner of ICE® All Stars and ICE® Athletic Center.  Darlene only coaches the Senior Elite Worlds Teams and the International Open Coed team.  She oversees every team at both the Mishawaka and Fort Wayne locations and aids her coaching staff throughout the year in running their respective teams.  In addition to All Star Cheerleading Darlene keeps up the Fitness side of ICE® at the Mishawaka facility.

Julie is the General Manager of ICE® Athletic Center and ICE® All Stars.  She is based in the Mishawaka location and runs everything from Fitness to Competitive Cheer.

Liz runs the cheerleading finances and the front desk at the Fort Wayne location. She has also been a competitive cheer coach and tumbling instructor at ICE®.

Liz was a cheerleader for 10 years at local community schools growing up and at IPFW in college. She was an Assistant Coach for 1 year at ICE helping with Senior 3 and Youth 3. She is a Tumbling Instructor at ICE and the Carroll High School Cheer Coach.

 

 

Lisa Filbert

Lisa is the Mishawaka Gym Director.  She oversees the running of the gym and manages most of the Mishawaka cheer finances.  She sets the tumbling schedules, places orders for uniforms/shoes etc, and is the Head Tumbling Instructor, running everything from beginner to elite classes, camps, clinics, and private lessons.  She also runs stunt clinics.  Lisa coaches the Senior Coed Level 3 team and the Senior Open Level 5 team.  In addition, she also aides the other Mishawaka coaches in the running of their teams.

Bio:
Lisa has worked under Darlene Fanning at ICE for 6 years. Beginning in high school, she has been coaching gymnastics, cheerleading, and tumbling for over 10 years! Throughout her career, Lisa has coached and assisted many all-star cheerleading teams of all levels to National Championships including COA, American Championships, WSF, Champion Spirit Group, GLCC, NCA, and UCA. She has also coached high school squads in both Wyoming and Indiana. In 2009, Lisa assisted in coaching the first ever ICE Junior Level 5 team to compete at the Cheerleading World Championships; they earned 14th place honors. She also assisted the Small Limited Coed team that earned 3rd place honors at Worlds. Lisa is a USASF certified coach and she currently coaches beginning through elite level tumbling classes at ICE®.

 

 

Dexter Crawford
Fort Wayne Gym Director, Head Tumbling Instructor, Coach, Choreographer

Dexter is the Fort Wayne Gym Director.  He oversees the running of the gym and manages the cheerleading finances.  Dexter is also the Head Tumbling Instructor, running everything from beginner to elite tumbling classes, clinics, and private lessons; also stunt classes/clinics.  He does the majority of the ICE® Choreography, sets the tumbling schedule, manages the coaching staff, and oversees the placing of orders for gym merchandise such as uniforms, shoes, etc.  Dexter coaches the Senior Level 3 team, the Youth Level 3 Team, the Senior Open Coed Level 5 team, and he assists with the Senior Elite Level 5 team.  In addition to his own teams, Dexter aides his coahcing staff in Fort Wayne with their respective teams.

Bio:
As a former Allstar Cheerleader and Dancer, Dexter Crawford is now entering his 8th year in Cheerleading and 6th year of coaching. Dexter has spent the last 5 years developing his coaching and choreography skills at Midwest Cheer Elite. In 2009, Dexter coached the Large Sr All Girl Worlds team from Midwest that ending up placing 8th in their division. He is a Level 5 certified USASF coach in Tumbling, Stunts and Tosses. Some of the people Dexter have trained with to master some of his tumbling skills are Debbie Love and Brian Payne. With an extreme love for teaching tumbling, and an even bigger love for Choreography, Dexter loves to clean and perfect the details in everything as far as his athletes tumbling, jump, stunts and overall showmanship. To him cheerleading isn't just about winning, its about building character and shaping his athletes into becoming a better person inside and out.

Andrew Weiss

Andrew manages the ICE® Cheerleading website, runs the Flight School Program in Mishawaka, runs stunt clinics, and coaches everything from beginner to elite tumbling classes, clinics, and private lessons. Andrew also works with school squads in Mishawaka. He currently coaches the Youth Level 3 and Senior Open Level 5 teams.
Andrew is available for private lessons at both ICE® locations.

Bio:
Andrew was an NCA Staff member and is AACCA certified. He was a member of the Small Limited Coed team that placed 3rd at the USASF Cheerleading World Championships in 2009. He has been in competitive cheerleading for 5 years and has been coaching advanced tumbling, “Flight School” classes, and Jump classes at ICE® for 3 years. He is also the Assistant Varsity Cheerleading Coach at St. Joseph High School in South Bend.

Jennie is our Marketing and Public Relations Director. She oversees the image of ICE® All Stars and the publicity of the program. In addition, she keeps the staff on task and on point with the Mission of ICE® All Stars while coming up with new and creative ideas for the kids to have FUN and learn all at the same time! Jennie coaches Pre-Team, tumbling classes, and the Mini Level 2 Team.

Jay Dieringer

Jay runs the Rent-a-Coach program in Mishawaka, runs Flight School classes, and is an elite skills tumbling instructor. He instructs everything from beginner to elite tumbling classes, clinics, and private lessons and works with School Squads in both tumbling and stunting. Jay works with all of the Mishawaka competitive squads in tumbling.

Jessie Richardson

Jessie is a beginner to intermediate tumbling instructor. She instructs Tiny Tumblers, Level 1 and 2 tumbling classes, and assists with Pre-Team.
Jessie is available for private lessons.

Jessica has been in competitive gymnastics for 10 years now. She is currently an active Level 10 gymnast. She has trained at the national training center in Texas and she has won numerous State Championships throughout her career. Before coming to ICE® she was a gymnastics instructor for 2 years. Jessica is now in her 2nd year at ICE®.

Keith has been in competitive cheerleading for 6 years now and was a member of the Small Limited Coed team that placed 3rd at the USASF Cheerleading World Championships in 2009 and 8th in 2010. He is now going into his 2nd year of tumbling/stunting instruction at ICE®.

Bio:
From 1999-2003 Jose was a member of Top Gun Large Coed. In 2007 he was a cast member in the movie "Bring It On 4, In It To Win It". From 2007-2010 Jose has Coached the Top Gun International Coed team among other elite and intermediate Competitive Squads. He was the 2007-2008 Coach of the Year (Top Gun- Athletes Choice)! Jose is a World renowned choreographer!

 

 

Josh Stone

Josh is an in-house choreographer, assistant cheerleading coach, and assistant tumbling/stunting instructor. As a full time student at Purdue University he is primarily available during the summer time, but can be found throughout the season working with ICE® competitive squads at BOTH locations. Josh also does choreography for High Schools and All Star Gyms throughout the Midwest.

Josh has been apart of the ICE program since 2004 when he first started his cheerleading career under Darlene Fanning. Taking his skill to the collegiate level in 2006, he was a member of the Purdue University Spirit squad. Now finishing up his education at Purdue, Josh continues to choreograph in his spare time. As an athlete, coach and choreographer, he knows how important the creativity, skills, and technicality of a routine are. Choreographing since 2007, Josh has worked with a handful of numerous high school, middle schools and other allstar gyms in the midwest. He has even been to Colorado to choreograph Legacy Lightning High School- placing 6th out of 54 at state. Josh has also assisted Lisa Filbert in choreographing for the ICE summer bootcamps. Last season, 2009-2010, Josh choreographed all the teams in the ICE program (except level 5) all of which won at least 2 prestigious National Championships including World Spirit Federation, COA Midwest Ultimate, GLCC Motor City Championship, and Champion Spirit Group. Josh loves to work with shcool and other cheer programs of all ages, from novice to the advanced level, and create the best possible routine for you.
