FAQ's

Have some questions?  Well we've got answers!

Do you have to be a member at ICE® Fitness or ICE® Athletic Center to do tumbling classes?

No, your child can be part of any program at ICE® without you being a member.  The only requirement is that your child has a waiver and release form filled out before they participate in tumbling or in any classes.  Waiver and release forms are available at the front desk or you can print off your own in our Forms section.

What skills does my child need to be on a cheerleading team at ICE®?

At ICE® we have a team for every level!  Our program is geared toward teaching the necessary skills to become a better cheerleader.  We have Pre-Team classes for beginners, a limited travel "Cheertyme" team, and competitive teams of all levels from the basics to advanced.  See the explanation of our cheer program under the Programs section.

What age does my child need to be before they can join a tumbling class at ICE®?

We have "Mommy & Me" preschool classes for children as young as 3 and "Tiny Tumblers" for little ones ages 3 to 6.  In addition, the "Tiny" division is a competitive cheerleading team for children ages 5 and under!

When can we sign up for classes?

Classes are run on a monthly basis; they start on the first week of every month.  You can join a class - if it is not already full - anytime during the month and we will prorate your payment for that class.  Our classes tend to fill up quickly and Priority Sign up, the week before the first of the month, gives priority to athletes already signed up for a class, so make sure to sign up early!  You can either call the front desk or sign up at the ICE® location nearest you.

When my child makes the team, how will I know what practice times he/she will have?

Our teams practice two days per week at ICE®, based on which team your child makes their practice time/days will vary.  Upon making a team they will be provided with the information they need such as practice days and times, the competition schedule, etc.

How much travel is involved and can I only do a few competitions?

At ICE® you can choose to compete in either 1st Season, 2nd Season, or both.  1st Season runs from July to December and involves more limited travel and typically fewer competitions.  2nd season runs from January to March or April and will generally have more competitions, but the travel will remain limited to the midwest.  Our Level 5 teams will take one "Big Trip" during 2nd season, usually to NCA Nationals in Dallas, TX.  Depending on the team sometimes our level 1-4 teams will make the "Big Trip" to Dallas!  Also, keep in mind our "Cheertyme" program which is an exhibition team that competes a maximum of two times and runs only during 1st Season.
