"I would not be living my dream of cheering on the best college squad in the nation, if it was not for my all star coach, Darlene Fanning. She not only taught cheerleading skills, but also important life lessons. At ICE, I learned about hard work and dedication, made life long friendships, and learned to never, ever give up. Follow your dreams, ICE is an amazing program that will help make them happen!!"

"Everyone at ICE is like an extended family to me. I grew up spending most of my time at the gym becoming best friends with all the girls on my team. ICE has taught me many life skills that I continue to use like, self-discipline, time-management, commitment, and leadership. I have made so many amazing memories at ICE and it will always be a part of my life."

"The skills that I have learned through ICE have not only made me a better cheerleader, but a better all around person. From ICE I've gained perseverance, dedication, and loyalty. My five years there have helped me to make the transition into collegiate cheerleading. Darlene has always pushed us to be the best and that has shown through cheering for Ball State. ICE has been and always will be a second home to me."
~ Aly Holm '03-'09, Ball State University Cheerleader
"After seven years of being a part of the ICE family I have grown into the person I am today, very motivated with a positive outlook on everything I face outside of cheerleading. I know I would not be where I am today without Darlene pushing me to be the best cheerleader, captain, or person that i can be."

"As a mother of four, my children have been involved in many activities. None compare to ICE. My daughter joined ICE when she was 11 years old with no cheer experience and tumbling skills consisting of a round-off. With tumbling classes and some private lessons (and, of course, great coaching), at age 16, she is preparing for her fourth trip to the Cheerleading Worlds. ICE has become such an important part of her life, it is her refuge, her place to be all she can be. Darlene is so much more than a coach. She has been there for my daughter (and our family) during some really tough times. Two years ago, me husband suffered a devastating stroke and we were told he would not live. Darlene gave us something that no one else did during that time. She gave us hope. She made us feel that it was okay to "believe in a miracle." We did believe. We got that miracle. ICE is not just the place where my daughter cheers, it is our family. My daughter came home from practice one day and told me, "Mom, I have learned one thing in life, God has a plan and Darlene has a plan and we don't always know what the plan is, but we know it is a good plan." Thank you ICE and most of all thank you Darlene for all you have done for us, on the floor and off the floor. Forever ICE."
